After months of planning and preparation, the 2nd Annual Kenny Whitworth Machining Competition is almost here and will be open to the public! Come out to the Breckinridge County Area Technology Center in Harned, KY between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Central time to support the event. We hope to present awards around 3:00 p.m.
We are proud to sponsor this competition to honor Kenny's memory and his commitment to the Breckinridge Co. Area Technology Center and their Machine Tool program. We sponsored the first competition, which consisted of 9 students from 3 area schools, in December 2021. Those students competed in Manual Lathe and Manual Mill. The feedback from the teachers was that the competition sparked interest and excitement with the students! We decided to expand the event to involve more students in more areas. Kenny always stayed on the cutting edge of technology, so this year's event has been expanded to include a CNC machining competition and a competition for 1st year students. 18 students from Breckinridge, Meade and Grayson Counties will compete.

The support from our industry partners has been amazing and we are so grateful to each of them. Because of the support we've received this year, each student and each school will take home some amazing prizes to help them continue in the field of machine tool technology.
